My heart finds itself among the roots of chamizos, reminding me that my body also holds territory: paths, rivers, laughter, tortillas, chilenas, and the voices of the people who move with me from one country to another.\n\n

You gather around a table at the center of the journey. From Casa Mook\u2019s ancestral kitchen to\nchocolate and mole moliendas ground by hand with local families, you are fed by relationship as\nmuch as by food.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

You are welcomed into Villa D\u00edaz Ordaz, a Zapotec community, where eight families open their\nhomes, and you join the day\u2019s work. You walk through the sacred city of Mitla and its caves, where some of the oldest records of corn\non earth still rest. Three of the seven days are spent in Villa D\u00edaz Ordaz, and about 25% of what you pay stays there \u2014 with the host families who open their homes, the cooks and moliendas who feed us, and the small restaurants of the village.
